An ancestor from a time when the species was still Connected to the Divine. or - a future self evolved from the chaos of the old world, like a Phoenix. My vision in this body of work rises from the deep resource that experiences past, present & future simultaneously. I attempt to express a fusion of these energies that bubble up and turn themselves into visual language.

The Japanese word for Lotus, the flower for rebirth. This Lotus is symbolic as there are no red Lotus flowers. Red is passion & connection to the sacred fires of the Divine. This passion of the soul sits between 2 horns. I use horns in my work on ancient/future figures, on masks, & as a symbol of abundance that comes from within.

Based on the client's daughter, her King Charles Cavalier & the mythos of Vision. The center symbol is the Third eye Chakra centered in the sacred geometry of Square in Circle. The Square is the material world & it sits in the center of the sacred Circle which is Spirit. I've recently been enlightened to the magic of this symbolism via the writings of my dear friend Bearcloud & his book, 7 Fires.
