Erin Lofton (b. 1964) is an American symbolist and visionary artist whose sensual, ethereal paintings explore themes of beauty and chaos, dreams and visions, nature, mythology, and Romantic mysticism.  Working within an intuitive visual language, her work blends symbolic imagery, layered atmospheres, and eco-mystic sensibilities into immersive psychological and spiritual landscapes - a deep dive into the inner mythic and sacred dimensions of human experience.

Born and raised in the Hyde Park Historic District of Chicago, Lofton studied fashion design, painting, and sculpture in the 1980s at Otis Art Institute during its Parsons era, as well as Arizona State University. Following college, she spent a decade traveling independently and living in magical destinations including Mount Shasta, Maui, Sedona, Vermont, and the Sierra Nevada mountains. These experiences profoundly shaped her creative vision.

Spanning nearly forty years, her exhibition record includes galleries and cultural venues throughout Chicago, Arizona, New York, Florida, Hawaii, New Mexico, Georgia, California, and Spain.

Artist Statement:

I explore the Divine nature of beauty and chaos within human experience and seek to express these observations through painting. My paintings honor nature and the old ways, with many images arising from contemplation of the cycles of Life, Death and Rebirth.
